Autumn Season 2011 on sale
Today the Citizens Autumn Season went on sale in full. The centrepiece to our season will be black comedy A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. This show premiered at the Citizens Theatre in 1967 and got lots of press more recently in 2003 when it was revived with Eddie Izzard in the lead role. Cast so far includes BAFTA award-winning actress Miriam Margolyes.
Scottish Opera will open our season with a new version of Orpheus in the Underworld written by none other than British satirist and impressionist Rory Bremner.
The National Theatre of Scotland return to our main stage with modern Scottish classic Men Should Weep.
Our very own Young Co. present a fiendishly dark evening of tales from the pen of Edgar Allan Poe: Gothic; whilst the Community Company present their annual sell-out show Wicked Christmas - a satirical glance at all things festive.
Glasgay! Festival bring two shows: Spain by up and coming Scottish writer James Ley and Ch Ch Changes written by Martin O'Connor and performed by Grant Smeaton.
We have socialist favourite The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists - a musical comedy in the music-hall style.
The much-loved Citizens Christmas show this year will be an original twist on the Grimm Brothers' Hansel and Gretel. This is recommended for 5+, but we also have Little Ulla, a studio production by Clare McGarry for 3-5s.
