Morecambe wins at Oliviers

As you may have spotted Morecambe won Best Entertainment at last night's prestigious Olivier Awards in London. Beating Derren Brown in the same category, writer Tim Whitnall joked in his speech that his competitor “Derren Brown did predict that Morecambe would win so thank you, Derren”. He went on to credit director Guy Masterson who “gave us all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order” and star Bob Golding who “has achieved one of the greatest performances I have ever seen in the West End”. But finally, it was “to Eric and Ernie that I dedicate our success”.

The show comes to the Citizens Theatre from 25-29 May. Here's a trailer for it, from its time at the Duchess Theatre.
