Pre-Show Conversation
"The Women Behind the Icons"
24 February 2011, 6.15-7pm

Louise Brown from our Learning department just met with her guests for the event - Marilyn playwright, Sue Glover and Professor of Film and Television Studies Glasgow University, Christine Geraghty; and gave me a taste of some of what may be discussed. Topics ranged from the Hollywood Studio system and how much it controlled Marilyn’s life; the perils of not being a natural blonde; The husbands: Arthur Miller and Yves Montand; how to make a marriage work under the glare of the public spotlight; the political activities of Simone Signoret and the Fifties fascination with psychoanalysis.

Sounds like it's going to be a very interesting conversation!
